Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Lucas Hill, the founder of LH Candle Co., based in Champaign, Illinois.

What started as a small side project in 2022 with a handful of handmade items quickly turned into something much bigger. I discovered wax melts almost by accident while preparing for a holiday craft show. I poured a few, brought them along, and completely sold out. That was the moment everything changed. I realized home fragrance was not just a product for me, it was the thing I loved most.

I grew up in the Midwest, where home has always meant comfort, family, and the little traditions that make everyday life feel special. My love for candles came from that feeling. Lighting a candle was how we marked the seasons, welcomed people into our home, and made ordinary moments feel just a little more meaningful. Those memories are the heart of everything I create.

As LH Mercantile evolved into LH Candle Co., the vision became clearer. I wanted to build a brand that felt elevated but still personal. Something that looked beautiful in your home but also carried a story behind it. Every scent is inspired by real places, real memories, and the moments that stick with you. 

Today, LH Candle Co. offers hand-poured candles, wax melts, home fragrance, and everyday essentials like foaming hand soap and cleaners, all made with non-toxic, thoughtfully sourced ingredients. LH Candle Co. is now carried in more than 70 boutiques across the U.S. and Canada, with the same care and attention that we had in the beginning.

This brand is about more than how your home smells. It is about how it feels. Calm. Cozy. Collected. Like a place you want to stay a while.
